A sandcastle zooms in to grains of sand, and one grain zooms in to the tiny atoms it is built from: building blocks that fit together and are far too small to see. Water, air and you are added underneath and named matter, and the video ends on the recap that atoms are the building blocks of all matter.

Transcript

What the lesson says

What is everything around us made of?

Let us look closely at a sandcastle.

A sandcastle is made of lots of tiny grains of sand.

Now let us zoom in on just one grain.

The grain is made of even tinier pieces called atoms.

Atoms are like tiny building blocks that fit together.

Just one grain of sand has billions of atoms.

Atoms are much too small to see, even with a school microscope.

Water, air and even you are made of atoms too.

Scientists call all of this stuff matter.

So atoms are the tiny building blocks of all matter.
