On a hot summer day we ask whether it could snow tomorrow, and learn that likely means it will probably happen and unlikely means it probably will not. Snow needs cold, so snow tomorrow goes in the unlikely box (it could happen, but probably will not), while a warm day tomorrow goes in the likely box.
