A child plays and learns in a sunny bedroom, gets tired at bedtime and goes to sleep, while three cards beside the room fill in one at a time with three ways sleep helps: our body rests, our body grows, and we remember what we learned. In the morning the child wakes up rested and ready to play and learn, and the video ends on the recap "Sleep helps us rest, grow and remember."

Why do we need to sleep every night?

In the day, we play and learn.

By bedtime, our body feels tired.

So we get into bed and go to sleep.

Here are three ways sleep helps us.

First, our whole body gets to rest.

Next, sleep helps our body grow.

Then sleep helps us remember what we learned.

After a good sleep, we wake up rested.

Now we are ready to play and learn.

So get a good long sleep every night.

Sleep helps us rest, grow and remember.
