A hand over a sink picks up germs that are too small to see, so they are drawn big, and some germs can make us sick. Five numbered cards (wet, soap, scrub, rinse, dry) appear one by one as the hand is washed, scrubbed while counting slowly to twenty and dried, ending on the recap "Wet, soap, scrub, rinse and dry!"

Why do we wash our hands?

Our hands pick up germs from things we touch.

Germs are so small, our eyes cannot see them.

Here we draw germs big so we can see them.

Some germs can make us feel sick.

Step one: wet your hands with clean water.

Step two: put soap on your hands.

Step three: scrub all over, even between your fingers.

Scrub while you count slowly to twenty.

Step four: rinse the soap and germs away.

Step five: dry your hands with a clean towel.

Clean hands help stop germs from spreading.

Wet, soap, scrub, rinse and dry!
