Two cards side by side compare illnesses: on the "can catch" side, a cough carries cold germs from one child to a friend, who catches the cold too, so colds and flu are called communicable. On the "cannot catch" side, a child with asthma and an allergy to pollen plays ball with a friend, and a no entry sign shows these illnesses do not spread from person to person, so they are called non-communicable.
