Germs, drawn big, spread from a sick child to a friend in two ways: hands leave them on a shared ball, and a cough sprays them through the air. Washing hands, coughing into your elbow, and resting at home with help from a trusted adult each block a path, ending on the recap "Wash hands, cover coughs, rest when sick."

What the lesson says

How can we stop germs from spreading?

Germs are too tiny to see, so we draw them big.

Some germs can make us sick.

Our hands leave germs on the things we touch.

Then other hands pick those germs up.

Coughs and sneezes spray germs into the air.

Three habits help stop germs from spreading.

One: wash your hands with soap and water.

Two: cough or sneeze into your elbow.

Three: when you are sick, rest at home.

Rest and sleep help your body get better.

If you feel sick, ask a trusted adult for help.

Staying home helps keep your germs away from others.

Wash your hands, cover your coughs, and rest when you are sick.
