Each sheet carries one level. The three are the same skill at rising difficulty, each named for what it practises.
- Level 1: Thousandths
- Add. Line up the decimal points.
- Level 2: Different numbers of places
- Add. Line up the decimal points. Write zeros where you need them.
- Level 3: Three numbers

Worked example
How the sheet explains it
The helper printed at the top of each sheet: one solved example and the steps a student follows, before the first question. Every number sentence in it is proven by the same checker as the answer key.
Level 1: Thousandths
- Line up the decimal points. Add from the right.
- Thousandths: 5 + 8 = 13. Write 3 and regroup 1 hundredth.
- Hundredths: 6 + 7 + 1 = 14. Write 4 and regroup 1 tenth. Tenths: 4 + 2 + 1 = 7.
- Ones: 2 + 3 = 5. Tens: 1 + 0 = 1. So 12.465 + 3.278 = 15.743.
Level 2: Different numbers of places
- Line up the decimal points. 6.75 = 6.750, so both have thousandths.
- Thousandths: 0 + 8 = 8. Hundredths: 5 + 6 = 11. Write 1 and regroup 1 tenth.
- Tenths: 7 + 4 + 1 = 12. Write 2 and regroup 1 one.
- Ones: 6 + 2 + 1 = 9. So 6.750 + 2.468 = 9.218.
Level 3: Three numbers
- Line up the decimal points. 4.56 = 4.560 and 12.7 = 12.700.
- Thousandths: 0 + 0 + 9 = 9. Hundredths: 6 + 0 + 8 = 14. Write 4 and regroup 1 tenth.
- Tenths: 5 + 7 + 0 + 1 = 13. Write 3 and regroup 1 one.
- Ones: 4 + 2 + 3 + 1 = 10. Write 0 and regroup 1 ten. Tens: 1 + 1 = 2. So 4.560 + 12.700 + 3.089 = 20.349.
