A drum plays while a line of time fills with a dot for each beat, close together when the beat is fast and far apart when it is slow, and big when it is loud and small when it is soft. Children hear each example and see it drawn, and learn that tempo means how fast or slow music is and dynamics means how loud or soft it is.
