Worked example
How the sheet explains it
The helper printed at the top of each sheet: one solved example and the steps a student follows, before the first question. Every number sentence in it is proven by the same checker as the answer key.
Level 1: By tens and teens
- Break 14 apart: 14 = 10 + 4.
- 26 × 4 = 104 and 26 × 10 = 260.
- Add the two parts: 104 + 260 = 364.
Level 2: Any 2 digits by 2 digits
- Multiply by the 5 ones: 23 × 5 = 115.
- Multiply by the 4 tens: 23 × 40 = 920.
- Add the two parts: 115 + 920 = 1035.
Level 3: 3 digits by 2 digits
- Multiply by the 5 ones: 123 × 5 = 615.
- Multiply by the 4 tens: 123 × 40 = 4920.
- Add the two parts: 615 + 4920 = 5535.
