Worked example
How the sheet explains it
The helper printed at the top of each sheet: one solved example and the steps a student follows, before the first question. Every number sentence in it is proven by the same checker as the answer key.
Level 1: Sums to 5
3 + 2 = 5
- Start at the bigger number, 3.
- Count on 2 more: 4, 5.
- So 3 + 2 = 5.
Level 2: Sums to 10
2 + 6 = 8
- Start at the bigger number, 6.
- Count on 2: 7, 8.
- So 2 + 6 = 8.
Level 3: Missing number
6 + 3 = 9
- Start at 6 and count up to 9: 7, 8, 9.
- You counted 3 numbers, so 6 + 3 = 9.
- Check: 9 − 3 = 6.
