10 times table

Practise the 10 times table, then use it to divide and to find missing numbers.

Three levels

One skill, rising difficulty

Each sheet carries one level. The three are the same skill at rising difficulty, each named for what it practises.

Level 1: Multiply
Multiply. Use a fact you know to help.
Level 2: Divide
Divide. Use a multiplication fact to help.
Level 3: Missing number
Write the missing number.

Worked example

How the sheet explains it

The helper printed at the top of each sheet: one solved example and the steps a student follows, before the first question. Every number sentence in it is proven by the same checker as the answer key.

Level 1: Multiply

10 × 7 = 7 × 10 = 70

  1. Turn it around: 10 × 7 = 7 × 10.
  2. 7 tens is 70, so 7 × 10 = 70.

Level 2: Divide

10 × 6 = 60, so 60 ÷ 10 = 6

  1. Think: 10 × ____ = 60.
  2. Try 6: 10 × 6 is 6 tens, so 10 × 6 = 60. It works, so the missing number is 6.
  3. So 60 ÷ 10 = 6.

Level 3: Missing number

40 = 4 × 10

  1. Count by 10s to 40: 10, 20, 30, 40. That is 4 tens.
  2. 40 is 4 tens, so 40 = 4 × 10.
  3. For ____ ÷ 10 = 4, think 4 × 10 = 40. For 40 ÷ ____ = 10, think 10 × ____ = 40.
