Worked example
How the sheet explains it
The helper printed at the top of each sheet: one solved example and the steps a student follows, before the first question. Every number sentence in it is proven by the same checker as the answer key.
Level 1: Forward
20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70
- Look at two numbers side by side: 30 − 20 = 10.
- The numbers go up by 10. Add 10 each time.
- 40 + 10 = 50, 60 + 10 = 70.
Level 2: From any number
7, 17, 27, 37, 47, 57
- Look at two numbers side by side: 17 − 7 = 10.
- The numbers go up by 10. Add 10 each time.
- 17 + 10 = 27, 27 + 10 = 37, 47 + 10 = 57.
Level 3: Backward
60, 55, 50, 45, 40, 35
- Look at two numbers side by side: 60 − 55 = 5.
- The numbers go down by 5. Take away 5 each time.
- 55 − 5 = 50, 45 − 5 = 40, 40 − 5 = 35.
