Worked example

How the sheet explains it

The helper printed at the top of each sheet: one solved example and the steps a student follows, before the first question. Every number sentence in it is proven by the same checker as the answer key.

Level 1: One part

  1. The bottom number tells how many equal parts. The top number tells how many to shade.
  2. Shade 1 part and leave 5 white: 1 + 5 = 6 equal parts.

Level 2: More than one part

  1. The bottom number tells how many equal parts. The top number tells how many to shade.
  2. Shade 3 parts and leave 2 white: 3 + 2 = 5 equal parts.

Level 3: Up to twelfths
