A movie runs from 2:45 to 4:10, and the video finds how long it lasts by counting on along a timeline: 15 minutes to 3:00, 1 hour to 4:00, then 10 minutes to 4:10. Adding the jumps gives 1 hour 25 minutes, and counting on 1 hour and then 25 minutes from 2:45 lands on 4:10 to check the answer.

What the lesson says
A movie starts at 2:45 and ends at 4:10.
How long is the movie?
Put both times on a timeline.
The time from start to finish is called the elapsed time.
First, count on from 2:45 to the next hour, 3:00.
That jump is 15 minutes, since 45 plus 15 is 60.
Next, jump a whole hour, from 3:00 to 4:00.
Last, count on from 4:00 to 4:10, which is 10 minutes.
Now add the three jumps.
15 minutes plus 10 minutes is 25 minutes.
So the movie is 1 hour and 25 minutes long.
To check, 1 hour after 2:45 is 3:45.
Then 25 minutes after 3:45 is 4:10, the end time.
To find elapsed time, jump to the next hour, then the whole hours, then the minutes.
