Set hours / minutes / seconds, pick from eight synthesised tones (soft bell, chime, gong, ding-dong, triangle, wood block, beep, or a soft shh-noise), and project. When the timer ends, the tone plays — looped until you click Quiet now — and your custom message appears on the wall.
What you'll be able to do
- Run a countdown the whole class can read from the back row
- Pick a tone that fits the activity — gentle bell or wood block
- Show a custom 'Quiet please' message when time runs out
Step by step
- 1
Open the tool
Sidebar → Teaching tools → Classroom timer.
- 2
Set the time
Use the hour / minute / second steppers, or tap one of the quick presets (1m, 2m, 5m, 10m, 15m, 30m).
- 3
Pick a tone
On the right, choose between Soft bell, Chime, Gong, Ding-dong, Triangle, Wood block, Beep, or Shh-noise. The play button next to each previews it.
- 4
Start & project
Click Start, then the fullscreen button. The progress ring counts down. Pause / Resume / Reset are right under the timer.
- 5
When it rings
By default the tone repeats until you click Quiet now. Untick 'Repeat the tone' in Options if you only want one play.
Click Preview before the lesson
Some browsers (Safari, locked-down school networks) require a user gesture before sound is allowed. Tap Preview on any tone once and audio is unlocked for the rest of the lesson.
